SONGHAVEN FARM
Planting seeds and singing songs all day long

In 2005, the dream called SongHaven Farm came into existence. Since then we have been stewards of this land, growing our crops the way nature intended - through recognition of daily and seasonal rhythms and honoring the life of the soil.
We sell our products through our uber-local Community Supported Agriculture project, at the Cortez Farmers Market on Saturday mornings, June thru October and at our favorite local grocer, the Dolores Food Market. As stewards of this land we focus on increasing diversity and fertility within this very small haven for all life. We pledge to you that we never use any synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers in our market gardens and that we treat our farm animals with respect, providing them with a good free-range environment and local, non-GMO feed whenever possible. |

Our Growing Practices
There's a lot more to growing great food than meeting the Organic Standards and not spraying chemical fungicides, herbicides or using synthetic fertilizers. While its important that we don't do any of those practices, we also do a lot more to care for the health of our soil and plants. By making probiotic solutions and microbiologically rich compost we continue to feed our soil food web which in turn takes care of our plants. In 2020 we started working towards becoming a
no-till farm and we use hand tools for the majority of all of our cultivation needs.
